Blackberry & Apple Crumble

Serves 4-6 (maybe!)
Filling:
2 lbs. unpeeled weight - cooking apples or mixture of apples - roughly chopped
approx. 12 ozs. blackberries
approx. 4 tblspns. demerara sugar
juice of 1 lemon

(I think you could double this quantity of fruit and sugar, but still use the same amount of crumble)

Mix above ingredients together and place in very well buttered dish, adding a little water to the bottom.

Crumble Mix:
4 ozs. SR or Plain Flour
1-2 tblspns. demerara sugar
3 ozs. cold butter
large pinch of cinnamon, allspice - to choice.
Can also add 1-2 tblspns. of porridge oats - in this case, minus same amount of flour.

Mix all ingredients together in food processor (or crumble by hand), and place evenly on top of blackberry & apple mix.
Bake at approx. 180/90 C for about an hour, until becoming golden and juice comes through to topping.

Serve hot or cold with lots of pouring cream!
The quantities for both the filling and topping are not crucial - so dont worry about it too much. It will taste delicious anyway.

PS: Photo above has been 'photoshopped'! Real food usually looks a bit messier!
